Get Motivated To Work At Home

Hopefully you made your list of goals and are working at accomplishing each one. What? You haven’t even started?

1. Take a moment to focus on what you need to accompish today, this week, this month, this year.
2. Prioritize your goals. What really needs to happen today? What do you HAVE to do within the week. And what would you love to accomplish this year?
3. Take the first step today to reach at least one goal. This may be a simple step but “a journey begins with one step.”

Sometimes our goals seem so out of reach it is tough to invision our goals actual being reached and therefore our motivation dwindles. Don’t think you can make it happen in 1 day, a week, or even a year. Sometimes taking little steps to achieve your goals is all it takes. Do nothing today and that is one more day lost toward your goal. Do something today and that is one more step toward your goal.
Are you ready to move forward?

Are You Scared?

Are you a mom who is wanting to become a work at home mom ,but are scared? One of the worst things that is holding back a lot of moms is fear. You might have a genuine fear of failing or you might even have a fear of success. Both of these will hold you back from being all that you can be. You need to ask yourself some serious questions before you move forward in your dream of having a home based business:
What is the worst thing that could happen if I do fail?

What is the worst thing that could happen if I am successful?

Can I live with either one of these outcomes?

If you find out that you could live with either one of these outcomes, you have got to make the choice right now to not let fear stop you from achieving your dreams. You have got to let your greatness shine through and get out there and start working towards your goal of having a home based business.

Be A Balanced Mom

So You want to go from being a stay at home mom to being a work at home mom. Moms are pulled in many directions. There are kids, the husband, the household, and so much more. It never seems like it all gets done. To make the flip to also being a work at home mom, you need to have great time management and organization skills. This will ensure that you get everything done and still have time for your family.
Use these tips to help you find the balance to become a better mom and work at home mom:
1. Use a calendar. You will stay organized and keep track of home, school, and your work schedule with just one calendar. Having a calendar hanging in a certain place , like a kitchen, where the whole family can see it lets them know your schedule also. That way when you are working they also know it and know not to bother you. I also find that it is good to have an agenda that I can keep in my handbag so that it is with me all of the time.
2. Know when to ask for help. Let your family know if you need them to maybe help you a little bit more with housework. You might be having a busy week “at work” because of holiday or taxes.
3. Do not hold on to guilt that you might have because you are “working”. You cannot do everything. You might have to ask for help. You have to remember that what you are trying to do by starting your own home based business is for your family. Do not overextend yourself though.
4. When you are not working , spend your time with your family wisely. Do not plop down in front of the tv. Go for a walk, play a game, or something else where you are really connecting with your family.
5. Set dates on your calendar for spending time with your family and on your self. Do not let your home based business dominate your life.
6. Change things when you need to. Talk it over with your family if you are needing to change your schedule. You might have found out that you can get more done with your home based business on a certain day or time and then that will leave more time for you to be spending with family and the house.
7. Be a flexible as you can be. Leave room for change and growth. Your family is growing at the same time as your home based business. With this comes many changes that will be exciting, frustrating, and very challenging. Stay open to all of the changes.
8. Do what is best for your family and you. Don’t allow your home based business dictate what happens in your life. Don’t let long hours working keep you from spending time with your family.

With these tips and ones that you already do you should be able to find the balance of being a stay at home AND work at home mom. All it takes is planning, flexibility, and a positive attitude. You can do it if you set your mind to it. Just make sure you are always letting your family know what you are doing and why you are doing it.

Goal Buddies

If you are like me and sometimes have trouble reaching your goals than maybe you need a “goal buddy”! This is someone that will keep you honest about your goal and where you stand. Here are some things to look for in a goal buddy.
You need to seek a like-minded “buddy”. They need to share the same type of interest and be in similar careers. Since you are reading this blog ,you are most likely a work at home mom or dad so your “goal buddy” needs to be a work at home mom or dad, too.
You should “meet” every so often to share where you each are in your goals. This will keep you from procrastinating.
Agree with each on what the rules are. Will you talk every week or month? Will you talk by phone or email?
Make sure you are honest about what your goals are.
Be open with all of your support and information with your “goal buddy”. For example: You are a direct seller for a party plan company and you know someone in their area ,maybe you could get them in contact with that person so they could have a party!
Report to each other your progress. This way you can keep track of what you want to improve on. For each goal your “buddy” has ask for a regualar progress report by email. You can share with other what goals you have reached or are close to reaching.
A “goal buddy” can also help you get through all of the bad times too. By giving you support and advice on how to get over the slump in sales or whatever is slowing you down.
You need to celebrate each others successes by sending congratulatory e-cards or sending a small gift. Whenever you reach a goal it is fun to recieve a reward - It helps you stay motivated.

WAHM Time

How do you squeeze enough time into your already busy day to work??

Start by figuring out how much time you can give your business and how much time is needed. Actually create a work schedule.

You need to set some ground rules with your family and friends! Let them know when you will be working and that your answering machine will be on for that time.

Set your hours. Find out when you are most productive and set that as your time to work. When you are working you need to be able to turn your back on other demands for that time.

Do not start cleaning the house ,etc, Go to your workspace and actually WORK!!!!

When you are planning your work schedule take some things into account.
1. When you are most productive
2. When their are the least distractions. (Like for me , I do most of my work at about 3 OClock in the morning after my hubby leaves for work and the kids are all still asleep.
3. Remember to allow yourself time for rest and relaxing.

Be realistic with your time. If you only have 3 hours a day to work ,than make the most of your time. and if you want more work time - you might cut back on other things , like for example - cut back on t.v. time. Do you really need to watch that show?

When you do find time to work - STICK TO IT. This is an actual job , you are just working at home. You have to treat it like a job and let your family know that it is your job and that you have to work.

Remember that you are the only one that can work towards your own success.
